When Margaret Atwood, a prototypical Canadian feminist and anti-Christian bigot, published her dystopian novel "The Handmaid's Tale", in 1985, she of course went for the low hanging fruit, in her attacks upon patriarchal society. The patriarchal villains of her novel were Christian (or at least Christian like); Christians always being an easy and politically correct target in post-modern North America. Being a Western feminist she studiously avoided criticizing Muslims and Muslim society, even though the daily reality for women in places like Saudi Arabia, was much more reflective of the harsh, male dominated dystopia she was writing about. It existed long before the existence of man on this planet and will exist long after man has ceased to exist. The effect however, of man's activities on this climate change is negligible. One might make a reasonable arguement that ending coal-fired generation, as long as it was done incrementally, would be a good one; but, the poorly thought out pivot to unsustainable, unproductive, highly inefficient and very expensive green energy has proven an economic disaster for Ontario. We should have rebuilt and expanded our nuclear power or looked at hydro power options.
